02.02.12 :: Cherry

I\'ve liked Gallner since his work on Veronica Mars and he\'s done a great job as a character actor on many TV shows. He also shines in Cherry and I dug how everything played out. Great performances all around, decent story and a worthy watch.

02.02.12 :: Encounter at Raven\'s Gate

Another de Heer (of Bad Boy Bubby fame) flick but one of his earliest and a science-fiction themed one. Unfortunately it\'s very slow and takes a while to get to the point. For 88\' the effects aren\'t bad and I certainly dig anything outback related just that I had moments of being bored throughout because it would lose the the plot. The last third makes up for this but not enough to make the movie a winner.

02.02.12 :: Alexandra\'s Project

I liked de Heer\'s flick Bad Boy Bubby so I wanted to see what else he\'s done. Alexandra\'s is a much different film, but also a great premise and it\'s executed fairly well. I would of liked for it to be a little more creepy but I love how the lead strikes back against her husband, even if some of it is a little unbelievable.

Surprisingly better than I expected. Thought it\'d be a Lifetime movie, but it actually has strong performances and an eerie presence to it.

02.01.12 :: Death Weekend

Also known as The House By The Lake and could be known as "A Poor Lady Goes Out With a Shithead Doctor and Ends up Having to Kill Everyone". A revenge, house invasion flick that plays out quite smartly with the lead Brenda Vaccarro actually being a smart, strong female lead. This is criminally underlooked, as I never hear about it but it\'s head and shoulders above Day of the Woman, but less sleazy.

02.01.12 :: Territories

Out now on import DVD, this horror flick is a step above the average kinapping of young people and putting them in shitty situations horror movie. The two bad guys get more screen time than you\'d expect and it\'s great because it helps to build the tension and even adds a layer of depth not usually seen in this. My only complaint is the detective is brought in too late to make him a worthy character and it seems he was forced into the script. Still, a highly enjoyable flick.

Brutally unfunny flick even with Jon Gries being in it. A wasted Penthouse Pet who only shows a few boobs at the end. Danny Devito supplies the only life in this movie. Truly awful.

A dance movie I hadn\'t seen until now. And a Potier film! This movie couldn\'t be any more 80s than it is. It\'s far from perfect, though, which is why it\'s likely fallen into obscurity. It\'s never super funny and the dance scenes aren\'t that great. Still, entertaining for what it is and worth seeing if you\'re a fan of this style of movie, which I am.

Seriously one of the funniest teen comedies around. I\'ve seen it a bunch of times and it always makes me laugh. And look at how many people have come out of this movie to have great careers.

I\'m a fan of the series and this one delivers. Better than the 4th film and has some great kills, especially the bridge collapse. And that ending? Fucking smart.
