04.11.10DVD Long Weekend follows to totally dickheaded, annoying people on vacation where they act like total assholes to Nature and it strikes back at them.

Seriously, the directors and writers would be hard pressed to find two more obnoxious people and that's good, because it just makes it more compelling when Nature comes back at them for littering, killing animals indiscriminately, using poisons, setting fire to the landscape with discarded cigarettes and in general being the worst of humanity.

What I found compelling about this movie is that oftentimes these nature strikes back films can be paced a little slow and while they'll have some great moments they never truely solid. Lost Weekend is the opposite. Because the characters are compelling and they have some nice reveals as the story plays out, and because the attacks are paced well, the movie ends up being a lot of fun and hits every note.

While remakes usually suck I'm now curious as to how the Nature's Grave one is, since it's a remake of this movie.
